Precious Metals

romantic ways to propose to your woman

One thing to consider is the type of metal you want to use in your engagement ring and wedding bands. Gold (yellow or white) is highly popular however rose gold is also available. The most commonly used metal is 18ct gold, as it retains its rich colour and contains fewer alloys which can sometimes provoke allergies in some people. Gold can scratch quite easily and will be a victim to wear and tear over the years.

Another option for your metal is platinum which is a much rarer metal to obtain and is almost twice the weight of gold. Naturally white in colour, it is one of the purest and finest metals available.

Platinum will not blemish or scratch easily and can be brought back to life with soaking and buffing with little hassle unlike gold. Gold on the other hand needs to be re polished or in the case of white gold rhodium plated in order for it to return to its original quailty.
